Design
Vertical lift Warren through truss. This is the westernmost component of the massive Triboro Bridge complex, which also includes a fixed truss span into the Bronx, a suspension span into Queens and a viaduct across Randalls and Wards Islands to connect the whole thing together.

Triborough Lift Bridge

Accroding to MTA Bridges & Tunnels, approximately ten lifts a year of the Triborough Manhattan Lift Bridge are conducted for maintenance purposes, and to honor requests from the US Coast Guard and various Maritime travelers.
