Design

The Stark Street Viaduct is a closed spandrel rib-style arch bridge over a small Sandy River tributary. The bridge was designed with unique architechtural treatments such as ornamental lampposts with Ionic order column caps and pine cone replicas incorperated into the lamppost design.
Stark Street is a main connecting route between Portland and the Historical Columbia River Highway. Many of the architechtural features on the bridge are similar to those of the Columbia River Highway bridges.
