Multi-tasking Bridges There is a lot going on here. The Union Pacific (formerly Chicago & Northwestern) crosses Watertown Plank Road, Underwood Creek, Underwood Parkway and the double-track Candian Pacific. Meanwhile, Watertown Plank Road crosses over Underwood Creek and Underwood Parkway, goes under the UPRR and vaults up and over the CPRR. Photo taken by J.R. Manning in March 2008 |

UPRR Truss Supports As seen from Underwood Parkway, beneath Watertown Plank Road. The road is named from its mid-19th Century creation when it was a toll road, paved with wood, that ran from Milwaukee to Watertown. On the east end of the road was Frederick Miller's Plank Road Brewery. Photo taken by J.R. Manning in March 2008 |
