Barrel Shot Looking Northwest

This view actually looks northwest, toward that campus that was once the Schlitz Brewing Company. The neighborhood north of the river is known as "Brewer's Hill" for the homes that once belonged to Schlitz Brewery workers.

Note the stainless steel and glass block control towers.

The Deck and East Railing

The building with the tall smokestacks was the Schlitz power house.

The south control tower

The Art Deco design is unique, as is the stainless steel and glass construction. Even the bell is stainless steel. (Well, it's shiny, anyway. Perhaps it's chrome over a metal that rings better.)

The West Side

Notice the debris gathering in the "dead spot" immediately in front of the camera position. This is a problem in several locations where a bridge crosses at a bend in the river. The areas were created to accommodate tug boats at the river bends, which are no longer needed. The normal channel flow does not carry the debris away and it gathers in these locations.
